Well, we are finally out playing shows!!! Our following is increasing in numbers and I couldn't be more thrilled. The songs off Hidden Treasure are being played worldwide and climbing the charts. Can't wait for more and more shows!! Hope to see you all at one!
After the release of my new CD Hidden Treasure, things have been going great for me. My music is being played worldwide in a ton of stuff from shows to movies. I prefer this album over my first. With my first album, I basically wrote my melodies and lyrics to an instrumental guitar album. So the music wasn't as condusive to my voice. Although I can write lyrics and melodies to almost any music that touches my soul, my second album Hidden Treasure, is much better for me vocally, and emotionally. It just brings so much more joy and satisfication to my passion.
In addition to my music, I have been working on a Self Help company that will be launched this fall. It has required a lot of energy on my part but I am extremely exited and pleased with the results. This company has nothing to do with my musical artistry. It's based more on my counseling background and skill in this area. I suppose I have MANY passions.... performing, writing, teaching.... However, my main mission in life is to help others and touch lives. So whichever vehicle I use to do so, is very rewarding to me.
I look forward to having you join me at my shows. And for those who need some help in the emotional area, I look forward to working with you as well...
HIDDEN TREASURE is ready to go! Will be released late spring. I have been working hard getting my new band up to speed with the new album. Can't wait to start performing. I have also gone into the studio and recorded my new upcoming Podcast and company. The name will be released soon as well! So far 2016 has been productive and great! Love the fans!!
Not sure how the years pass by so quickly. 2015 has been a productive one. I spent many months in the studion recording my new CD HIDDEN TREASURE. I also have been working on my second book and upcoming Podcast. I look forward to all of the exciting things ahead!! Stay true to yourself everyone!! Think Big, Live Big!
With all of the projects I have been involved with this year, I did not make any time to blog in 2014. For that, I am deeply sorry. However, I can say there have been some great porjects set in motion this year and I am so excited to share them with you in 2015. I started recording my Podcasts that involve bits and pieces of self help and spiritual tips. The new website, Podcasts, products and more, should be available some time early next year!!!
I have also started writing my 2nd book AND recording my 2nd CD!! Needless to say, I have been very busy. Many of you know how much I love variety and boy, variety is my middle name.!! I have my hands in so many projects which gives me a sense of well rbeing and balance. From writing, recording and performing live music to hosting Red Carpets, interviewing celebs and writing columns to teaching kids drums and Language Arts....Yeah, I'd say I'm busy.
Look forward to an upcoming year of excitiement!! HAPPY HOLIDAYS ALL!!
It has been awhile since I have blogged. I keep meaning to and somehow all of my other social media pages have taken priority. All I can say right now is it has been one heck of a ride from last year until now. I have had many opportunities in all areas of my work to expand. My writing career has skyrocketed. I've had the opportunity to interview many celebs, work the Red Carpet, write columns and soon, an upcoming new book. However, my music is weighing heavily on my mind these days. I miss performing terribly and really hope to be doing so soon. I thank each and every one of you who have kept me sane during the trying times and during the times of dreams unfolding. A million thanks for keeping the rock alive!!!
So much to do.. so little time... It’s interesting when you have a passion and a dream, you have to find time to dedicate to it. Most of us are busy paying the bills, working numerous jobs and trying to have a life. But making time for our passions and dreams requires tremendous energy, drive and patience in addition to the above. The successful ones find a way to balance as much as they can. However, there is definitely a price to pay. We can only balance so much time before something has got to give.
Going after a dream can often lead to sacrifices. Perhaps we have to sacrifice a particular line of work, money, relationships, and so on. This is where it gets tricky... You have to be honest with yourself and decide what is most important. And even if everything is important, you have to choose what is vital to do now! If you spread yourself too thin, you risk the opportunities you have been waiting for all of your life.
Of course many people try to advise which direction you should go in... And again, in the end, it is “us” who have to make the final decision on which path to take. I have found, if one path doesn’t work, try another and another...
Well, I have made some critical decisions with my life and am giving my music the greatest chance yet... I will continue wearing all of the hats I do, to the best of my ability.. and I will continue trying to do a balancing act with all of the things needed in my life. But the biggest decision I have made... is just being true to myself.. not allowing others, fears, judgement and so on, to shape my world. It’s all up to me now.. Do I have what it takes? I’d like to think so...
Because I wear so many different hats, I plan on sharing stories from various things I do here on my blog. It will help for you to get to know me. Today I will talk about what it’s like to be behind a Red Carpet. I’d much rather “be” on the Red Carpet as a musician but being behind it is an experience in itself.
A lot of friends have asked me to describe what it’s like hosting on a Red Carpet with A-list celebs or doing home, private interviews with them. Today’s blog, I will talk about Red Carpet interviews. Let me first explain the politics of a Red Carpet. To begin with, you must receive Press Credentials by applying to the network hosting the event AND be approved. Not just anyone can apply. The networks know reputable Media Outlets and well known Magazines so you can’t fool them.
Once approved, you are assigned one of two sections on the Carpet. You are assigned to the Photography section or Hosting section.
In the Photography section, there are hordes of photographers there for photos only. They line up and crowd in. Once they have a spot, they will practically kill you if you invade their space. Some photographers are great to work with while others will give you a verbal lashing if you take a photo in any part of their space. When a celeb comes out, everyone shouts the name of the celeb to get that perfect “head on shot.” Sometimes the celeb will look directly in your camera and sometimes not. One has to be creative to get the celeb to look at you. I rarely stand in this section on the Carpet but when I have, I usually get the celeb’s attention by being funny or saying something outlandish. I say something like, “Hey babyeeeee” or “You look HOT!” hahah.. Works every time. I’ve said much more provocative things when I want to make “sure” the celebrity looks at me but I will keep my paparazzi secrets private.
I’d much rather be in the Hosting section. Here the hosts stand with camera crew, etc., for interviewing the celebrities. We actually have marked spots with our company’s name. Once again, unless the network putting on the event knows you, it’s even more unlikely for you to get in this section. I have put in many hours hosting and hopefully, have made a name for myself. I have found that Hosts and Camera crews are often more respectful than some of the paparazzi in the Photography section. We all give each other the respect of waiting while the other Host interviews. I am very down to earth with the celebs which seems to get them to actually open up on a more personal level with me. I have had some of them tell me things where all the major reporters around me look at me in disbelief. They shake their heads and say, “how the hell did you get him/her to reveal that!” I am careful what I print too. Since my background is in counseling, I can kind of get a better feel or gage what they would probably want the world to know or what they seemed to be just sharing in the moment to me personally.. Sometimes when a celeb hits it off with me, I’m even invited to their private parties.. I know when this happens, they trust me when I say, “this is off the record.”
